Help? processor ques.?

My laptop support up to intel core 2 duo processor. it currently has intel core duo, how do i change the processor.Help? processor ques.?Well there needs to be a little more information like model of notebook. If you have changed or installed a cpu on a desktop it is the same, just have to take apart the notebook, usually searching the internet you can find where someone has a picture by picture how to open up the laptop and where things are. Check and make sure you do not need better cooling for the newer cpu or a stronger power supply. It is not hard if you like messing around with taking apart things with really small screws and putting them back together. Once you get down to the motherboard it is the same as a desktop on changing the cpu.Help? processor ques.?Search your manufacturer's website for a service manual for your particular model. On a Dell laptop you'll have to remove the keyboard and palm rest to get to it. Then just unscrew the heatsink. There is a tension screw that holds the CPU in, turn it counter clockwise and then carefully remove the old CPU. You can purchase a new CPU from here: http://www.directron.com/bx80537t7200.ht

I have no affiliation to that website nor have I ever ordered from them, I cannot and will not be held responsible for their services.
