I went to check my computer's properties went I was bored and it said 1.99 Ghz. However, later, when I checked again, it said 1.59 Ghz. Right now, it is 1.99 Ghz. Is there anything wrong? By the way, my processor is AMD Mobile Sempron 3300+. That's what it says at the My Computer's Properties. Thanks. Please e-mail me if you have any questions. How come my laptop's processor speed changes from time to time?It is normal that is the power saving feature built in computers these days. Lower ghz means less energy supplied to processor. How come my laptop's processor speed changes from time to time? There is nothing wrong with your computer. This is how it is supposed to work.
Notebook processors are equipped with technology that allows them to regulate their clock speed based on how the computer is being used in order to make the computer more energy efficient. When the computer is idle or the running programs do not require fast processing, the clock frequency is reduced so it can save energy. And when you are running CPU intensive applications, the frequency goes up.
