How hard is it to change processors?

That would depend on the processor ... some would require a complete new mother board and other things as well. ~How hard is it to change processors? All depends on the compatibility of the other parts of the system with the new one.How hard is it to change processors?Easy, I just upgraded mine by buying a new computer. =D

But seriously, if you have a compatible cpu it should be pretty easy. Just watch how you remove the cpu fan so that you can remount it the same way.How hard is it to change processors?depends if you bought ur computer from a manufacturer or u put one together. if you put one together then you should know how, but if u baught one, u first have to know what socket ur processor is, then you have to take the fan and heatsink off, then u have to unlock the socket by pulling up teh lever, then take it off, hten put in the right socket new processor, then apply thermal paste unless ur's already came with it in on the heatsink, then u close the hatch then put the heatsink and then fan on and secure it, then i dont know what to do after that, it may not work since hte manufacterer locked the bios settings, so its kinda hard to set it. ur better off not changing it and getting a new computer, or building oneHow hard is it to change processors? It is easy if there is nothing in the way. You may have to remove the cpu fan first. Depending on your motherboard and pc cards, you may have to remove them if they are in the way. You don't say what cpu you have, but I am assuming you have one of the newer ZIF (zero insertion force) processors. If this is the case, then once you remove anything in the way just pull out and toward you on the lever beside the cpu. Then you can just lift the cpu out. Don't forget to unplug the cpu fan if so equipped.

You need to be sure that the replacement cpu is supported by your motherboard. For example, if you have an Intel cpu with a 478 socket motherboard and you decide to replace with an AMD cpu - it won't work. How hard is it to change processors? It is not hard to change the processor. But you better make sure you have chosen the correct processor with right speed, compatibility etc etc.otherwise it may give hell of a headache........How hard is it to change processors? Not really that hard, usually. Some are a pain if you cant get at the processor very well, and some have irritating heat sink clamp downs. YOU MUST BE CAREFULL OF STATIC as it will ruin a processor, mobo, or memory.

However, I must ask WHY you are changing processors? Is your computer dead and you think it will fix it? If you are sure the processor is the problem, then go ahead but consider if it is a good financial idea before possibly throwing money away. If the computer is over about 4 years old, dont replace the processer, replace the computer instead as it is not worth it.

BE SURE the processer you are putting in is compatable with your motherboard! How hard is it to change processors? It really depends for me it pretty easy. I go to store buy new processor. Open up pc case. Ground myself. Remove cpu fan ground that. Remove old processor. Open package off new processor put in mounting area on motherboard then lock into place ,then put cpu fan on. The cpu fan sometimes seems like a challange. If everything runs smoothely and I take my time I can get it done in thirty minutes and thats if I take my time. It can take longer sometimes because cpu fan is sometimes a hassle to put back on. It could be done in five to ten minutes ,but the longer I take the more better of a job I will do. I don't like to rush. If I was to rush I could easily damage a part. Its pretty easy.just depends on how everything fits. If it I was to do it over I would just buy new motherboard and processor. I don't like having to remove the processor. Unless I have too. If you like hands on and you have worked on the inside of a pc then go for it. It funs. If not hire someone who knows what there doing. Its really a ten minute processes. Or if I really wanted it done fast I probably could do it in less than 3 minutes. As I said before don't rush if you got time. Good Luck . Also make sure your motherboard and other componets work with your new processor. Or make sure they are compatiable better to be safe then sorry. Once again good luckHow hard is it to change processors? Not that hard only 60 sec to change processor. How hard is it to change processors?i have a dell computer running windows pro. i plug it in and it powers on but the monitor will not come up. the monitor has power but will show nothing. I've tried 3 monitors. when you power on the dell it gives 4or 5 beeps
