you may be able to upgrade to an athlon (a faster single-core), an athlon x2 (dual-core), or possibly a phenom (tri-core and quad-core). it would depend on your motherboard on which cpus would work, and you may have to update your bios.
you can buy processors at many online stores. newegg and tigerdirect are my favorites for computer parts.
